New Delhi : Telugu shocked police The Supreme Court has made it clear to the AP and Telangana states that FIRs should be registered on police encounters. The Supreme Court has instructed the governments to bring the matter to the attention of the court after the FIR is registered.
Meanwhile, the Joint High Court of the Telugu State had earlier directed that section 302 be registered against the police involved in the encounter. The AP Police Officers' Association along with the AP and Telangana governments have challenged the Supreme Court. The FIR has ruled that Supreme Court encounters are not mandatory in the matter.
